That’s certainly not reality, with most businesses selling products at MAP (minimum advertised price), MSRP (manufacturer suggested retail price), RRP (recommended retail price), wholesale, etc. The ability to sell the same product at various price points is a capability that most businesses need in order to ensure they are keeping their product and brand integrity in-place while having a financially successful business.
The Quivers solution caters to this need by allowing for the creation of unlimited “Price Types”. A Price Type is a combination of a core price, a currency, a special price and the dates that special price is active. For example, a business might sell their product at 5 different price points: MSRP in US Dollars (USD), MSRP in Canadian Dollars (CAD), wholesale in USD, wholesale in CAD, and MAP in USD. In Quivers, this would result in setting up 5 different Price Types.
Gone are the days of needing separate catalogs to manage pricing variations; with the Quivers Connected Commerce solution, a business can set and maintain as many pricing levels as needed in a single catalog.
The structure and navigation of products is a critical component of the shopping environment offered to consumers. However, every consumer type is different, and therefore, their expectations of online shopping is dependent on their background and goals. For example, a general consumer may navigate to products in a very different manner than a wholesale retailer or a product ambassador.
To ensure each consumer type is comfortable with their shopping experience, the Quivers Connected Commerce solution offers businesses the ability to setup unlimited Marketplaces. A Marketplace is defined as a selection of products, associated categories, pricing, and access control. In other words, a Marketplace can cater to a specific audience, offering a unique product selection with specific pricing while preventing access of that Marketplace to only certain accounts.
The key of a Marketplace is not only the unique shopping experiences that can be created for the consumer put also the maintenance of those Marketplaces. For most eCommerce solutions, a new Marketplace will result in copying the product catalog, thereby duplicating the maintenance efforts to ensure that catalog remains up-to-date. However, the Quivers platform allows a business to create unlimited Marketplaces all relying on a single product catalog.
As an example, a business can take some high-end skis and put them on different Marketplaces (under any categories) at the Price Type associated with that Marketplace and either allow any access or limit it to an audience. All the while, the pictures, descriptions, pricing, and any other product attributes for those high-end skis can be maintained in a single location.
When a Marketplace is ready to go, it’s time to setup where the “rubber meets the road”: the website. In many eCommerce platforms, this could mean selecting from a limited number of templates that may or may not mesh with the existing web look-and-feel. The alternative is spending time (and money) trying to make the eCommerce pages seem like an extension of the website, all the while knowing that consumers will notice the difference.
The Quivers Connected Commerce solution doesn’t offer template shopping pages or a long CSS (cascading style sheets) file to learn and modify. Instead, the approach is for the new shopping environment to become part of the business’ existing website using a unique solution component called the “HoverCart”. This shopping cart “hovers” its way onto and into the existing website, allowing the consumer to experience shopping on the website instead of navigating the consumer to another page.
